Throttle Connection

On a 1985 F250 with a 7.5 L and Motorcraft (Holly) carb there is a black plastic block connecting the throttle wire to the carb lever. How do you remove it to separate the carb? It appears to be plastic and I don't want to break it. All the carbs I have worked with have the ball and spring loaded socket but this one appears to be different.

Just insert a screwdriver between the linkage and the cable connector, then gently pry. It is just a spring loaded ball-clip inside that plastic connector. It will pop right off. it snaps back on as easily as it comes off.
