Possible Fuel problems

I have a 2000 Ford-F250, V10, 6.8 liter Gas

THe issue is that when I try to start the vehicle it will start, but then start to idle real low and then die. If I try to restart sometime it will and sometimes you have to let it sit. I can also pump the gas and it will someyimes start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of things it could be.

Is it turning the CEL on? If so, what codes is it showing?

+1 on the IAC. That is where I would start looking.

That's just one of a myriad of possibilities.

You can try whacking the IAC with a screwdriver handle just to see if that loosens it up, but more info is needed to make a more educated diagnosis.

I replaced the idler control valve and there are no issues once it starts. When it won't start I can sometimes push the gas down and it will start. I'm unable to check for codes because it's never happened when I have it somewhere that can check.

Codes are stored and light won't go out until someone turns it off.
