Rocker Arm Mounts
Are those 'nicks' i see... or reflections?
Those little diddys what look like little lines intented kinda make me a wee bit nervous.
I would venture to guess they are from slivers of piston rings. That is if im not just seeing some optical illusion... with your compression #s this theory is further supported.
I agree that a look at the underneathy parts of the heads are definitely in order, but as I have said time and time again... I would not pull the heads unless the motor is on a stand... safely out of the truck.
Fortunately... also due to the compression #s... at worst i e'spek yer lookin at a rering kit and a valve lapping. If a couple holes are chewed up... a couple sleeves set in shouldn't be all that bad at a scrupulous machine shop.
I remember reading somewhere about re-torquing the rocker arm hold down parts? some say it helps to quiet the rattle a bit..
any truth to that.??
I'm not sure why it looks like it does. I do not feel anything necks on the ends of the push rods. But, I'm wondering if the the rocker arm wear might be from the low pressure oil pump not supply oil pressure quick enough? Trying to justify why the rub marks.
