Just about done with my v code swap and need to decide on shocks looking for group input of what your running, ran and threw in the trash. Also I know it's here and I should know but I need f250 shocks now correct?
I got the Rancho 9000XLs... only thing I can compare them to though are finished stock shocks and about 6 months of Monroes and I prefer them over the Monroes...
I have the 9000s also, I like them. Generally speaking you can run a softer shock setting when you increase spring rate and the opposite for less rate. I have V's and SRW C codes and set my shocks to 1 in front and 4 in the rear. You'll need to cycle the adjuster a few times a year so they don't rust to the bore. Lastly these adjustments only affect compression and rebound, once the piston moves, the valuing is the same regardless of setting.
I'll still give a nod to the bilstein 5100's, had them on an old 97 F350 crew and they were the only shock to eliminate the stupid quirks my 2500 Cummins had
The 5100's will be replacing the Bilstein heavy duty (blue/yellow) that i have now.
Will stick rears work if I get a lift block to get the back up until I do b mods? If so will they work with the b mods also
And I'm leaning towards shocktober
I bought my Rancho 9000s when I had original springs, I still use the Excursion fronts and rears with my V/C swap. I looked up the shock specs and they are as long as the F250 version. HTH
