I haven't held a set in my hands but pictures of replacement truck pistons show 3 ring grooves. 352 pistons I believe had full skirts as well. The shorter stroke cleared them? I've never weighed a 352 piston but I know 410 pistons weigh somewhere in the neighborhood of 820 grams that's pretty heavy, and its the shortest piston ford put out.
i had great luck with a $50 360 it had 150,000 miles on it when i got it, i put on some c6ae heads that were ported and polished, edelbrock performer intake, straight up timing set and long tube headers along with 2.75 gears.... it absolutely would destroy tires when i wanted hauled ridiculous amounts of weight and wood with it raised hell and everything under the sun possibly it took a year and a half of treating her like a red headed step child before she spun a bearing... i kept a log book of all my fuel bought and mileage and i averaged an honest 16 mpg and had achieved 18 on very rare occasion and with all that i even had it over 120 mph quite a few times with witness's and long highways .....if you match the right parts the 360 isn't anywhere near as bad as people make them out to be.... mine was rapped over 5000 rpm hundreds of times and it was the 6300 rpm spin in the mud that bent the pushrod ejected the lifter and then i drove it 40 miles with it missing before i looked at it and by the the rod was knocking.... i twisted off 3 oil pump drive rods and in all its life that i had it that 360 ran 12 miles with absolutely not a single drop of oil pumped through it.... i would recommend a 360 to anyone if they can match the parts i did
