Quick question, what size nut holds the front bumper bolts on to the frame? There are four of them and the crescent wrench I have just isn't going to get the job done (the bumper is dented and caved in so there just is no room to turn it). I already have a socket set so I figure I'll just pick up another socket to use for this since I probably will need it for future projects anyway.
Truck info: 1978 F150 4x4 SWB 351W C6 trans, regular front bumper (no guards or anything, just the standard chrome)
Bill, Would that be the same bolt if you have the bumperettes? looks like my truck used to have them and someone took them off and I only have 2 out of 4 bolts holding it on now.

These are the only bolts, with/without bumper guards.
1978/79: Remove the vinyl pad, the bolts then fit thru the bumper guards.
Thanks everybody! It has been a while since I even bothered trying to get the bumper off (been working on other parts of the truck, slowly), and all I can remember is that I got hung up somehow and assumed it was the bolt size. I definitely have 11/16 and 3/4 deep sockets so maybe that wasn't my problem...?

Oh wait... maybe this was it. Ah well, I'll see if I have time to give it a try again tonight. I'm getting senile in my old age I think (hey, 23 is older than 22, right?).
