My '69 Ranger. Cleaning up

I have a bunch to do to this truck so I started with the hard part. Buffing. I bought a porter cable 7424 DA and after using a rotary for many years this thing is awesome.

Short history on the truck. It was bought new by the original owner. He passed away 25 years ago. The truck then sat with his parents and started and driven to the store occasionally. When the parents passed on the daughter got it and her husband was going to fix it up. Well, they divorced and her cousin got it out of the yard where it sat outside for 5 years under as tree. The bed full of leaves and the truck parked at a angle with the drivers side nose pointing downward all that time. He had it a year and now has to have his second heart surgery (feel bad, too young for all that) so he just has no time or money to put into it. So now I have it. Lots of cleaning. Someone smoked it it a bunch. You cant smell it but the windows are filmed up bad. It took a razor blade to get the crud off of the back glass so now I have 5 more pieces of glass to go. Anyway, here are the pictures after I buffed it. BTW, I gave it a dawn bath. Then used meguires ultimate compound followed by the ultimate polish. I started with meguires #1 compound but it was messy and I got the same results out of the ultimate. I have not waxed it yet, going to wait until it is all done and will pick up a good wax from autogeek. I need more pads anyway.

After

Stay tuned. Lots more to go as I finish up the outside and move to the inside, under the hood and then the new wheels and tires.

No, it is old school. 360 with a 3 on the tree. I've got a set of wheel vintique 15x8 Ford steel wheels coming that I'll paint black and a set of 235/75/15's to wrap them in. Should look pretty good. I just hope it is enough tire.

The 3 on the tree with the 360 and the SWB/SB....I bet it moves right along with little to no effort!

A little more work done

Installed new front springs and shocks. I got the new wheels painted and the new tires mounted up. Lug nuts finally got here (thanks to fedex and the 7pm delivery) so I threw on the drivers side. I'll get the others on tomorrow. After that I'm waiting on the new rear shocks and I'll get those on, change the oil and do the front brakes. Then off to Vegas for a week and when I get back I'll start taking the inside out and do a good cleaning. For now, wheel teaser pictures.

My big problem is the front bumper... don't know what I'm gonna do about that. Hmm, any suggestions would be appreciated!
