I know there are threads like "what have you done to your truck today" etc but figured I'd make my own to post what projects or repairs I do on a daily/weekly basis between my dent and friends dents Anyone is welcome to contribute and show what they did if you like. So this is what I've done in the past few weeks that I actualy took pics of g

This truck was named the turd liner due to its brown repaint from the original maroon color. My friend decided he couldn't take people calling it that anymore so wanted to paint it. Not being able to afford a new paint job due to the extensive rust and dents in the body (dent that don't belong their haha) he wasn't sure what to do. So I suggested plastidip that rubber tool handle coating. So 14 cans later this is what we got I need to get a pick with all the tape off the truck because it looks way better then before.




Went to look for a wheel so I can finally have a spare tire for the Blue Ghost (74 highboy). The one pick your part yard finally doesn't have any dents left besides one that isn't available for picking yet but hey that means they are still on the road and stupid teenagers arnt scraping them cuz they want some hunk of crap import But I went to this other yard and there is at least 10 or so dents that have been there awhile (one was a crew cab that was in immaculate shape minus missing every interior part. Still had all doors and glass. I saw it Tuesday and it was gone Thursday when I went back :/ ) But this was a newly added dent. F250 Explorer Package. With camper special badging as well.


Friend calls me who is working in a science lab this summer at the University of San Diego (he drives a 73 highboy) and says as he got to school he saw a 78/79 Bronco parked on campus. I rushed right over to put a note on the guys car to let the owner know that later this summer I plan to have a dentside/bumpside/bronco meet and greet and asked the owner to give me a call or txt. Later that day I got the text. 28 year old who just got it off craigslist looking like the first picture for a grand. Gross color! But he is in the coast guard and apparently has full access to a military auto garage that's never in use after 3pm so if I go with him I have access to every tool know to exist from lifts to pipe and tube benders, mig and tig welders, etc. Im going on a trip for the next week to Chicago area but when I get back im meeting up with him at school. Another dent side buddy But here it is. He says he wants to do a resto mod which includes cutting the roof off Im trying to stop that one. He says he likes the little broncos and how their roof comes all the way off. I told him to go buy a blazer if he wants a full size roofless. Its a sin to destroy a good bronco that was only made two years. But enough talk here it is when he bought it, then now.

And finally a month ago I got the mig welder 220 volt plug installed in the garage. So started my first projects at home Friend with the plastidip truck wanted a spare tire mount so I made it for him. Don't know why but this is how he wanted it. Turned out well. Needs the bolts to hold the tire now.lol



Then my brother has a Lincoln truck (like a fancy f150). He is younger then me yet drives a nicer car then most of my family haha. But we all know a dentside is better So I got some sheet metal and mig welded it together. Woulda been better if I had a tig but here is is before

Those who follow country music will get it all others will be lost. Me and my USD buddy with the 73 highboy went to the tim McGraw concert in dentside style (its the writing off his new album cover) We were getting thumbs up and truck yeah from dozens of people. Everyone loves a dent even the Chevy drives broke down and said nice trucks



Heading to pick up my 2nd 390 I got for $20 haha, looked in my rearview and saw this



And yes I got it for $20. Its from a 66 T-Bird.

Also got a free boat anchor (289 intake 2bbl)

And here is me and my buddy (seen sitting on his truck) when we went and got my 390 for the 445 build. Went to the junk yard and pulled one from a 66 galaxy Little did I know id get another 3 days later for $20, oh wells now I have two!

My Buddy got a 79 4x4 PS box for his highboy which is rack and pinion, as well as a 79 HP Dana 44 with discs.




On another trip to the junk yard for fun just to see what dent parts we could get ahold of cheap we saw this booger green dent out front.


On memorial day I put the flags on the truck Also took the block from the junk yard and put it on the trailer where I tore it down and boxed up all the parts to sell and took what I would re use to the shop where it sits now being prepped for the 445 build.

Went down to my friend Nicks house and he decided to try and climb this hill in his front yard in 2wd.... Needless to say he dug the rear tires in about 9 inches and burn a hole right through the PVC water line hahaha


Headed to the bank to cash a check and deposit a few and look what I found!



Getting new tires put on the ATV Idk why but pulling a trailer or having a bed full is fun. Guy leaning on the truck built the motorcycle rocket thing that holds the land speed record

And im sure I posted this already but a month or so ago I found this sweet rollbar. Its for a short bed but I think ill hold onto it for now anyway. Its not thin metal its a heavy duty sucker! Found it laying in the back of a long bed 77

You are correct! I went back to get them cuz I didn't have enough cash on me and someone had already bought them

 

Went MIA for a bit but here is the recent stuff

Made a few trips to the local pick n pull and saw a highboy and a 78 f250 4x4. Got the ps box off the 4x4

Was also just wandering through the recently added stuff and found a 59 f100 that was obviously some guys project. The body and all was 98% straight and was all sanded and primered. I tried getting the manager to sell me the entire truck but he refused to sell me the frame.... BS!! He said for 2k I can have the frame I said go to hell. Anyway, I ended up getting the cab, tailgate, pass fender, grille, hood, and valence from the front for a grand total of $300. Talk about deal of the century.lol I planned on selling them to someone who would restore the truck on another frame or something so at least the classic wouldn't be crushed. So here is the cab


And I decided to see what it would look like blue and white so I painted a side with some extra rattle cans I had around.


Well.... painting it was a bad idea. I like the combo and found a picture on the web of that exact combo.... So me being a ford crazed horder, I decided to keep the cab. And well, 4 days later I bought this I have a serious FORD condition. Once I saw it I had to have it. Frigin impulse buys. I coulda used the money to keep working on the highboy but I had to get it to keep for a later project

Not a dent but still awesome in my opinion! Now stock I believe it had a I6 with 3 on the tree man tranny. Someone put in a 390 with a c6 auto floor shifter. I plan on putting in a 4 or 5 speed with hurst floor shifter eventually when I can work on this after the highboy gets a engine swap



Here is what else I made cuz I was bored.lol These were also my first and second real "" welding projects. Im just now teaching myself.

I made a jack and spare tire mount first (ill post pics later of that)

Then I made a headache rack. I have the mounts for it in the garage right now but don't wana put it on yet. Since my highboy is called the BLUE GHOST, I wanted to make something ghostly I guess when it came to the headache rack. So here is what I made
