My son is (wisely) looking into getting a Bronco for his first vehicle. I came across a '78 with a 429 in it. Must(?) be a transplant - right? Too bad - I don't think the emissions folks would let me licence it. (I'd have to give my son my "lil mule" and he wouldn't touch the big one for at least several years.)
Sorry for the delay - I was on vacation. Yeah, I'd love to drive it. I was really wondering when the last 429's were put out. I had a friend in High School that used to drive us around in his brother's 429 Cobra Jet Shelby quite a bit. His brother was in the service, overseas and wanted the car to be driven regularly. It could break the tires loose at almost ANY speed. I doubt the extra weight of a Bronco would hold a 429 back much.
I'm just south of Denver and the "Big Mule" must be down in SW Colo, based on the area code. 'Not sure how far it is to Canada...
