2011 MKX questions

We are finally getting ready to add another vehicle to the fleet. Our Mountaineer is getting long in the tooth with well over 250K on it.

So we have our eyes on a fully loaded 2011 White Platinum with Nav, Vista roof, The my touch, camera and all.

So...is anyone here running something similar and are you having any issues/concerns?

Hey I'm a new guy around here but my fiance has a 2011 MKX, Silver and all the options you list except Nav. I bought it for her in February with 43k miles on it. It's now got around 52k and runs great. It's funny, she had a Mountaineer prior to this as well. Before I got it the dealer replaced an inner tie rod and battery. Recently I had it in for one the LED segments on the volume slider was out and the remote start only worked half the time. Turns out the remote start issue was the driver's door ajar switch. It gets around 17-19mpg with a mixture of highway and city. I was hoping it would be a bit higher but oh well. Are you having issues with yours?

Well the Mountaineer is still running fine but we are giving to one of our daughters for a first ride.

So we looked a lot over the last week and could not find a used or a new one in the correct color combo.

So started looking at the MKC and found exactly what we were after in that one.

Sort of a sand color on the outside with white sand interior.

2.3 L ecoboost.

MKX seems very popular and we did not want to order one. We are happy with the MKC choice though. Was more expensive though.

Gotcha so you went with the MKC. The MKC is comparable to the Escape if I'm not mistaken?
I really like the 3.7L in the MKX, I wear it out a lot. It torque steers more than I thought it would.
Mountaineer isn't a bad first ride!

I didn't know that the escape is the sister to the MKC. You may be right. I will have to compare.

Seems to me that there is more room than the escape though.

Yea I would be interested to know if it is indeed the Escape underneath. You're right though, it does the MKC does seem to be a bit bigger. I looked at one in the showroom last week so I thought maybe that was why it appeared to be bigger than the Escape; it being indoors.

well they are based upon the same platform. I now remember the salesman telling me that they stretched the wheel base a bit so that the ride was better.

You be the judge.

I went for a ride down to the ford dealer and did a comparison

Wow that's cool. So it looks like an Escape they stretched out a bit. And not just in length but looks wider too.
Thanks for the pictures, makes more sense now. Great now the fiancé wants one lol.
