I recently bought an f250, v10. I would like some advice/ suggestions on how to care for the truck. The truck is a 99 and I have read of problems specific to the heads and cps. My truck seems to have a slam when shifting. The transmission fluid is clear and smells good. Any insight?
If your transmission fluid is clear then that would explain your problem. It should be red . Can you give us a little more info on the truck? Miles, service records, prior usage(if known), etc? Congrats on the new truck too and welcome to FTE!
I apologize. I mean the tranny fluid is clear meaning not burnt looking. It is red.
The truck has 137,000 miles. I have no knowledge of prior usage. I have recently hooked it up to a scanner and codes indicating a miss on five shot. I changed the cp and the code stopped.
I apologize. I mean the tranny fluid is clear meaning not burnt looking. It is red.
.
No need to apologize. I knew what you meant and was just giving you a hard time . Does it have any grinding type of noise along with it or does it just shift more firmly than it should? Does it do it all the time or intermittently? All gears or certain ones?
