stuck in gear
I have a 94 4x4 f150 300 6 in it.when I got the truck it would not stay in 5th gear and was told it was shift forks causing the problem. The other I was taking off shifted to 2nd gear and noticed it felt like it was still in 1st.i tried shifting to another gear and it would just grind and still be in first. I got it home and it will go foward but will not shift into reverse or neutral. I took the shifter off and can move the gears with a screwdriver but still want come out of gear.

Ok so I got the top of transmission off and got a look at the shift forks.they look pretty worn to me but I have never seen new ones so can't say for sure.So my next question is where can I find a new set of forks.mine is 4 by 4 so would a regular 2 wheel drive set of forks work?

Ok so I found a set of forks from a 92 2 wheel dive at the junkyard that were still in decent looking shape.i installed them and my transmission is working again but still pops out of 5th gear.i was told the shift fork is what was making it pop out of gear in 5th but the set of forks does not seem to help.any other ideas to as what it could be. Could it be Synchronizer maybe?another question is I have not flushed the transmission yet and want to do it after replacing forks so what type of fluid is best or what do must of you guys run.
