After you brush the frame you might need to shine a light across the frame rail to make the characters stand out. The stampings are often lightly stamped.
Also, its' safe to post your serial number here. Below is a thread on US serial numbers and there is another on Canada serial numbers. Almost all of us have posted our numbers without any problems.
Enjoy your truck and if you have any questions along the way, just ask. Without seeing a picture of the blue color, it's hard to say. Canada did a lot of things different than assembly plants in the States.

Thanks, glad to be here, looks like real good info here. I was just looking at a '47 Ford Truck thread and those dudes had firewall data plates that look more like mine. I'm wondering if this truck I have is just so early (serial number 6921) that those Canadians didn't really have the 'print down yet?? Maybe they were stamping the wrong info on the data plate? 🤔
The title definitely says Mercury and the dude i got it from allegedly drove it down from Canada in the 80s. Not sure if he was the original owner or not.
Here's what your stamping might look like, and where. Regarding your blue, don't rule out some custom ordered fleet color, too, that wouldn't show up on any chart. Most anything is possible.
Don't suppose anyone has the info from the lost tables, either the original table themselves or info from the original catologue? I'm trying to translate my plate to figure out more about the truck's history and trim, and i can't find the canadian parts book anywhere. The paint code of "m-14285" doesn't appear anywhere in those tables that i (or the find function) can see.
Think in terms of upholstery material and color. You might be able to sort it out from what you have left.
Ford US only had a few upholstery colors in 48. I've seen brown and black, heard tell of red.

Your kinda out of luck trying to figure out the trim codes on the trucks. I just picked up the Canadian 1946-48 car and 1946-47 truck body parts catalogue, in addition to the body parts catalogs I already have of 1948-56. It gives the trim codes for the cars but not the trucks. The manuals just say to make sure the trim code is on the order form when ordering parts. I've never came across any other books than the chassis parts and body parts books. The 1941-47 chassis parts catalogue has always been too expensive for me to pickup.

Hopefully I can just find some people with original trucks and get lucky that one of them has the same code as me and just copy the interior 🤷🏾♂️
