Idiot Alert- Tranny/Engine Question
I have a bad habit of driving through...puddles. Some of them are a bit further off the road than others, if you know what I mean.
However. I have nothing, no dust plate or anything, covering my flywheel (they took off the plate that bolts to the bell housing).
Should I be worried about mud or water getting in there and screwing anything up?

If the engine is running, usually nothing will happen. Tall weeds and tree branches can get up in there though, and if you are in deep water or mud and the engine quits, you might be in trouble there also. In my experience, if the engine is running it will usually sling water and light mud out of it by itself.
