DIV is right....I have a 99 EB and there is no way to make it work. Seems silly for you to have to ride in silence so your kid's can listen to 'their' music but I guess you can either think or talk to your co-pilot if you get bored. Or just stare blankly at the road asking 'Why me?' as your kids sing to you....Haha
Well it must be the year for rear control problems! My 1998 Expedition seems to be locked in the rear control state with headsets the only way to listen to the audio system. All attempts to reset (3+5 button) will cause the headset indicator to turn off but the main speakers will not come on. When I turn off the power and back on, the headset indicators are back on...almost seems to be locked in rear control without speakers. Probably something simple.....all attempts at using the rear button to switch on/off only toggle between the headset with speakers and headset without speakers but no speakers turn on. Probably a loose wire? any ideas??
Hey TW, I got the same exact problem. It's a 97, though. I just bought it in that condition, and don't know when it started. I tried disconnecting the rear panel, and amp, and don't have any other ideas. It seems that this is a typical problem that someone else has probably faced, and solved. I hope they're reading.
