Console Vault Group Buy
I'm sorry, but I'm going to go on record to state that this law, wherever it exists, on the scale of 1 to 10, is a solid 10 on the scale of ridiculous.
So is Ford's flip up rear seat under seat storage compartment a hidden compartment? It is under the seat, not visible. Some versions have locks. The DuHa underseat compartment may have a lockable option. What about behind the seat? That's hidden too. Can't see it through a window. Every Ford truck from 99-04 had a compartment tray behind the rear seat. If you toss a Haliburton brief case with a lock, now you have a hidden, lockable, metal, compartment? And for all these things you are deserving of a citation?
What about the overhead console? If your wife stashes a locket inside one of those drop down compartments, filled with photos of your children and good luck charms inside, and keeps the key in her purse, now we have a hidden lockable compartment. Is she going to jail?
What is the difference between a locked compartment in the overhead console, and a locked compartment in the center console? Or a locked compartment under the rear seat? Or a JL Audio Stealth Box with, oh my gosh, a speaker and an amp hidden inside?
What kind of law is this? What kind of invasive encroachment on personal privacy does this law purport to penetrate? Do we not have freedom to even breath inside the sanctity of one's own bought and paid for personal space inside the interior of one's own vehicle?
Put me down for one of those Console Vaults. 99-00 40/20/40 foldable center.
