Not sure if anyone would know, doesn't seem to me the dreaded fuel pump problem.
Was driving on highway pulling my 5th wheel after going though the toll both it never went out of 3rd gear and motor started taping pretty bad, turned tow haul off and it shifted up. All along never seemed to lose power, as I was looking to pulled off high way and into A park in lot it started losing power then just shut off. All along this 2min ordeal the motor was nocking/taping. Seems to me like the motor blew.
Any thoughts
Thanks bob
Time to get that to the dealer... If you read about them going, that is how it usually happens... No warning or anything. I would say check/change the oil, but since you are under warranty still, I wouldn't mess with it too much. Have you pulled codes? If you have the productivity screen you can hold the down arrow on the steering wheel and turn the key to ON and you will get an engineering display. It will show codes if any are present.
I hope it isn't what happened just sounds like it by reading posts from people that have had it happen to. Overall it is a rare event, especially after the Job 1 2011's. (and even in those it is rare)
Yea I'll be honest from the day I bought it I was always waiting for something to happen. Sucks though especially since I did maintain on this truck at 3500 miles for oil and other filters at 10k thought I would have the one to last 200k + luckily I still have the old 7.3 that will cart my *** around till this things fixed
Thanks for the help
Let us know when you make it in to the dealership, Bobmurp1. Once you get a diagnosis, I'll be able to check out options to help.
Crystal
Thanks crystal just heard back today that bearing in bottom end went and oil pan was filled with metal. Ford is sending a short block but it worries me a bit as the oil travels though the entire motor. Not sure how the injectors, Turbo, valve stems etc will be after that. I guess fingers crossed? Hate to say!
