.supposedly a 4ft red/green 16gauge wire ??is this correct. I don't see it in any diagrams .I'm assuming It's not needed with EFI.any info on where it starts/ends is greatly appreciated
truck has DS2 factory.found this is this the correct one?does it go right to ign switch?
on post #15 https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-problems.html
can i just delete.tap in just before this pink(supposedly )resister .I just need a ignition wire with run /start power which the red/green seems to be(also the wiring color on my ford racing harness)
You should be able to see a coil wire (pink) near the IGN switch which is the other end of the resistance wire.
You truck will just have 2 wires in and 1 wire out (post 15)... and yes this is the feed point you are looking for.
But still, l a relay is the easiest and best choice. The new IGN system will draw more amps and taxes the existing wiring.

JIm
a relay at the red/green wire and use it to trigger the wiring??the ford racing harness needs a start and a start/run wire .(which happens to be color coded the same as the 86 wiring.for the start I'm using the blue/red(?) wire that feeds to the starter solenoid on fender and looks like the red/green wire is start/run.the main power for the computer and harness etc is a 10 gauge wire direct to battery
The start wire will be the single small wire on the fender mounted starter solenoid.
The run/start can be as easy as removing the wire on the coil positive and using it to power a relay. The relay when energized would provide power to your new IGN system.
