Blown head gasket
So i found out today that spiking temps that I hoped were water pump are in fact blown head gasket.
Due to a conspiracy of circumstances I am going to have to have this fixed at the dealership.
HELP
I know I want to do head studs. I have to order these and take them.
Who is the best source ?
What else would you do while it is in for this ?

Thanks Cheezit !
My mechanic mentioned doing a new oil cooler as well out of concern that the one we just did could have ruptured due to high pressures.
Worth doing ?
Aftermarket or oem ? PPE ?

No.
I would do an oil cooler as well.....personally along with everything cheezit mentioned.
I would go to XDP for the studs....I had them in one day w/free shipping and they were the the cheapest @ 413 everywhere else I looked they were 425++

I would throw a couple hundred on a y pipe. How many miles on it? There should be no labor, just the part. Maybe they'd let you ship it to Josh and have the bellows done.
Glow plugs n wires
If its an 04,, I've got pics on here somewhere of a hpop cover I grinded to give the discharge tube more clearance. Doesn't take much.
6.4 push tubes

It depends on when yours was built. Mine has a 2005 engine, but yours may have an '04 engine.
If your sticker on the passengerside valve cover is yellow, it's a 2005 engine.

Man I would say that is high for labor only!
Two shops I had quote me for the same(studs, gaskets, head work, oil cooler, EGR delete) were between 1200-1800 for labor if I supplied parts. 2700-3200 for labor and parts.

At a shop that uses a matrix thats about right. Aprox $117. An hour. Seems fair dealer pricing. But matrix is robbery

When I looked it up in all data just for head gaskets im pretty sure the labor was 20HRS just for the head gaskets, but they shouldn't be charging you much more for the STC fitting as the dummy plugs and blue spring are pretty much right there!!

I got the arp studs for $389.99 with free shipping thru Modular Motorsports (805)383-4130. They were the best price I could find.
