Converting to bench seat

I have a 2000 f250 super duty and it has 2 bucket seats with no centre console. I would like to convert to a bench seat and I was wondering if the bench seat would just bolt in

Welcome to FTE Ckrau-18 .

Yes, a bench seat will bolt in. Try to get a bench from the same year of truck to match any wiring.

Seat belts will be a concern. My buckets have built in belts. Bench seats do not.

I had a 2002. I bought a jumpseat from a newer truck with seatbelt attached. took the seat covers off of my bench seats. removed the arm brackets. then put the cover/leather back on. then bolted the jumpseat in. it was cloth but matched ok for my beat up truck

I was thinking about that the other day when someone else was asking about this same swap, but is there even any wiring on a bench seat? I've had buckets and splits with wires for power seats, lumbar, etc, but none of my benches have had power anything. Going with the split seat with fold up console like mentioned above would allow you to maintain the power seat funtions.

I think so Josh. The wiring for the seat belt switch (is the seat belt fastened), seat occupied (is someone in the seat) and the seat belt pretensioner.

Good points. I'm not sure if mine has that though. My moms escape(xlt) and dads ranger(xl, split bench) both ding and flash the seat belt warning light. Neither of mine did that.

FYI, my 2001 XLT SD has cloth split bench with the fold down console. It has a power seat for the driver and seat belt warning for both driver and passenger. No power seat for the passenger. Also, the seat belts are built into the seat.
