Too many trucks?
Well, I guess I got myself into this one... I am buying an 89'F150 2WD 300 I6, with the C6...Engine is new, tranny is rebuilt about 70k on both. I planned to gradually refinish it and make it into a reallly nice old truck... but in looking for a few parts, I have been offered the same truck (with the 5 speed manual) for half the price. The parts truck I was offered apparently starts and runs smoothly at Idle but cuts out when you put a load on it. The owner thinks it's an EFI issue. My dilemma is I think I could probably get it running pretty easy, but the other truck has the new engine/tranny, and the parts truck has the 5speed...(which I like). I am toying with the idea of combining the 5 speed tranny with my new engine, then combining the C6 with the other truck, fixing it and selling it and getting some of my money back...Lots of work... But it would be fun! Same engine, trannys should bolt right up, but may need to change a crossmember, pedals bar, steering column, and center floor pan....Could just switch the cab but that changes the VIN.. Any ideas?

The onlytpblem woth that is if you can't get the other one fast enough to try out the clutch and go through the gears to make sure they don't grind, scratch, stick, jump out of gear, etc. and find out the hard way it needs a rebuild your up the creek
