292 - 302 Swap

Has anyone swapped in a 302 with the original solid axle. I'd like to ask a few questions before I start buying parts. I've read a lot of posts but there are still some questions.

Thx,
Bill

When you say solid axle, does that mean 4x4?

Either way, the generic answer is yes, its been done many times. 302 & 351w bolt in the same way. However, we need more info on your truck to give a better answer.

Not a 4x4 - just the stock solid beam that connects to the leaf springs. 1960 f100. My concern is with the oil pan hitting the beam or tie rods. the 292 oil pan is 4.5 - 5 inches in depth - the 302 oil pans I have looked at are 7.5 - 8 inches. Just wondering what other forum members have done.
