I have always ordered this option on my trucks. Ford only allows this now on fleet orders. Fixin to order my F350 crewcab tomorrow. Does anyone offer a full front floor mat with good coverage? This will be a ranch truck and keeping carpet clean will be a challenge. Also, any feedback on cloth interior colors, gray vs tan is appreciated. Always have ordered Gray in the past but kind of like the tan. Will be on a F350 crewcab lwb, 6.2l. Driven a diesel since 92, little nervous about going gas but scared of the new diesels. Turned 400k today on my 7.3l. Sorry for the ramble.
Weathertech mats offer a full front floor mat. Not sure it they have one for the new 2015 trucks or not though. I have the Weathertech mat in my truck. I'm a landscaper, keeps the carpet clean of grass, mud, and whatever else I drag in on my boots.
Welcome to FTE and congrats on the new truck. I don't like carpet in a truck either and have always gotten mine with the vinyl floor. I have had gray in my last two trucks, but the exterior colors matched gray and not tan, so it looked fine. My bronco has tan interior, but the exterior went with tan and would have looked bad with gray. Either one looks good in my opinion, so long as it goes with the exterior color. I have no doubts you will be pleased with the gas either. I had both a 7.3 and 5.4 at the same time for about 5 years and couldn't be happier with the one I kept
I just got my first truck without carpet. I love not having the carpet. I always managed to take care of the carpet, but it was a pain in the xxx. Now I don`t even have to worry about it. You will love the 6.2. My last two trucks were v10`s and I love the 6.2
Thanks for the feedback. Y'all satsfied with your mpg?
Mine really isn't relevant since it isn't a 6.2, but I got 21 mpg's out of my 7.3 and 15.5 mps's out of my 5.4 with both empty. Towing 7-8k lbs they dropped to 19 and 13.5. It looks good on paper to get 4-5 extra mpg's, but with the cost of fuel it was about even.
Can anyone recommend a good floor mat - protector to use with the vinyl floor? I still want to protect the vinyl floor and a mat will make it easier to keep clean - I can take the mat out - dump any dirt - sand - salt etc and wash it.
I don;t want something that will slide all over he place because the floor is vinyl.
just order an XL and you get vinyl floors standard and can add cloth seats for $100. The grey cloth is light and really doesn't hide stains all that well so it will be marginally better than the tan. If it was me I'd get some seat covers no matter the color you choose, or get vinyl seats.
I have 4.30 gears and can easily get around 14mpg in the summer with highway driving. City driving knocks my mileage down to around 12-13mpg. in the winter my highway mileage drops to 12.5-13mpg. While towing my mileage is pretty consistent at 9.5-10mpg with a 6000lb enclosed trailer.
LMC Truck has "floor liners" which is kinda like a big floor mat with a raised outer rim to form kinda like a bowl to keep mud/snow/etc from spilling out onto your carpet or vinyl floor. I'm not sure where I put the catalog, or I'd give you more info...
As far as vinyl floor covering goes, it seems like I remember there being different years (also from the LMC catalog). Something like 99-07, 08-10... I'm curious to know what the differences in the floors are, and if the 11-current are different also (or did they just not bother to change the packaging after 2010).
