I am new to diesel engines. When I got my Super Duty I surely did not know what I was getting into. I had never even even heard of DEF or DPF or a whole bunch of other things. I am learning a lot though and enjoying it. I am all for a clean environment but am not feeling a lot of love for the clean air equipment.
What I would like to know is how to tell when I am in regeneration mode. I have about 1300 very easy miles on the truck and have never noticed anything to give me an indication.
Would someone with a little more knowledge on this subject be kind enough to tell me?
You can also run the system check and it will come back up. For those more in tune with the engine you can smell and hear it when it is in regen, also if you have your mileage up all the time it will usually drop every time unless you haven't reset it in a very very long time.
