I may not have too much company on this, but I really like the look of the factory wheels on my 2005 Ltd. They are the 6 hole with the rounded shoulder. Were these only provided on the 2005?
Anyways, when I bought the truck, it had brand new BFG Rugged Terrain 265/75-16 tires on it, and I haven't put much wear on them, so this is a question that won't have an immediate impact. At some point, I would like to go wider, and as it's a 7" wheel, might have some concern over exceeding 285's. Yes, I know others have done it, but is it really a good idea? Even the 285 spec says 7.5-9" wheel.
I am curious to see if anyone here has had the stock wheels cut and widened. If you have, could you please give me an idea regarding the cost and turnaround time?

You probably want to consider how it will tow if thats something you do much of. I put a wider tire on my f250 and it towed terrible on the highway. My 5k cargo trailer wasn't too bad but my 5th wheel was white knuckle bad.
