ill be taking my headliner down in a week or two, installing a new one. just thought if there is a overhead console that would fit up there. is there a brace that goes from back to front under the headliner to attach it to.
Late 90's Explorers had them. I have one in my truck in fact. You will need the harness for it as well as the temperature sensor from the same Explorer as well.
Here is the Explorer unit:
Then there is the Bronco one. It is larger than the Explorer one.
For either on you will have to figure out the mounting. The best way is to grab the mounting bracket for the console and find a way to mount that to the inner skin of the roof. Then the console will mount strait to that.
There is/was a cool one I mounted my CB in for my 70 and my 79. It is from a 76ish-83ish Ford LN9000. I think it was the Louisville cab so could include F6/700. I got them both from HD truck junk yards and there is a brace part under the headliner that I took and used with a little tweaking. Not sure if it would fit your cab but a little modding is all it would take. It has an AM/FM slot and a speaker so perfect for a CB. Never took any pics.
Today I went to the junkyard and found a 94 Bronco with the overhead console. I got the mounting bracket with the short screws that go into the roof and found the temperature sensor hiding too(front end damage)!
I'm just about to buy an overhead console for my 1992. I guess I should take the sensor from the truck too. Can anyone tell me where the sensor is mounted on a 92 model?
my overhead backup monitor (it has a dvd player built in too,but i don't use it) iv got it wired full time to help me backup to the ball for trailers and keep an eye on everything while driving and removes all blind spots with the truck while not towing.you can grab these on ebay for like 75 bucks.
