Hey ya'll I have tried searching the internet but can't really find anything. Could i use a guys spare injector out of a newer engine in a 1997? trying to get home.
The 94.5-97 model year 7.3 psd's use different injectors than the 99-03 psd's. So, no, it won't work. Or perhaps I should say it won't work right. What's wrong with the one injector?
Injector won't fire. Seems the wiring is good. 3 0f the injectors are white looking on top, 1 is all black. All on that side start with AA the spare one does not, have to go look at it or call the guy but I think it said AD.Truck is stock no chip. I bought this truck used and this first time with the valve cover off. It looked like it has been a long time on there. Will it just run bad or what? It really couldn't run much worse could it?
The dead injector reads 3.1 the spare reads 3.2. Dude said the engine the spare come from ran good was going through oil. He works at Ford Dealer and the owner of truck had them do a change out. I need to drive this for a while and then order some Stage 1's. Auto parts wants from $220. - $345. plus tax each for the one replacement.. What would all 8 of the Stage 1"s cost? Truck has 125,000 on it. Where is the best place to get them? Thanks for the help.
P.S. The one that won't fire is a white top. I have pulled it out, it had a little scoring or pitting not visible on the newer year spare and the lower O ring is worn looking.
