Power Steering Pump question
I have a 2001 F350 7.3 dually. The PS pump finally quit. Got it apart and started to put back together. In the bag were 2 o-rings. The teflon one is not a problem. The small black o-ring is a mystery to me. Does it go under the high pressure connection? Does that fitting slide out? I started to muscle it, but then thought better of it. Some direction would be appreciated.
Has anyone used the aftermarket filters, like the ones Cardone sells? This pump has two return lines, one is from the cooler, do both need a filter?

Another option is cut hydra boost return line to PS pump, add filter shown below with a couple of hose clamps.
