pulling while stopped
I have a 1978 f100 with a 302 c6 auto, completely stock, while sitting at a stop light the truck wants to go forward, if I let off of the brake the truck will go, I know it should do this a little but I really have to hold the brake to make sure it doesn't hit the car in front of me, what would be causing this?

With an auto trans the idle speed is set with the truck in drive and the brake on .. So you need a trust worthy helper .. In your case though I would turn down the idle a little while in park before you start the in drive with brake on adjustment ..

if your idle is ok, also consider that you could have a broken motor mount which would allow the motor to twist from the torque caused by being in gear...which could in turn put force on the throttle causing the engine to increase in rpm (thus causing more torque, etc...)

In my experience I have noticed a high idle purposely set to cover a stalling or a badly tuned Carb issue.. just spin down the idle (if possible) and see how she runs.. another issue I have seen in rebuilding my own carburetors is if the butterfly valves are not perfectly aligned they will not close and the motor will run just above idle..
