Most of you know these headlamps suck! They are not bright to say the least. I need to replace them and I want to keep the look of the 7.3. I found these on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/99-04-F250-F350-F450-SUPERDUTY-EXCURSION-CHROME-HEADLAMPS-HEADLIGHTS-00-01-02-03-/400299398635?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d33b415eb&vxp=mtr
More than likely there made in China, but I also don't have the money for OEM parts. Would you recommend these or not?
EBay headlight buckets are fine. Before you put them on, use a good silicone and seal them up good so they don't leak. Be sure to cover the entire seam where they're put together even if it looks sealed. The headlights on my wife's Tahoe come from eBay, after a couple years they're still not leaking.
I put that set in over 4 years ago. As mentioned above, I ran a bead of silicone around the seams of the headlight. They still look great today, with a nice gloss to the lens, and the reflective portion inside still very shiny. The marker/turn signal, on the other hand, I did not seal with silicone, and the reflective portion inside is peeling. All in all, I'm fine with them, and will likely get new markers some time in the future. As far as performance, they were definitely an improvement over the oxidized stock ones they replaced.
Sweet, thanks guys. I know they are not OEM quality and I don't expect that, but it sounds to me like they will do and will be a huge improvement over the junk that is on there now. Thanks for the tip on the silicone, never would have thought of it. binuya thanks for the pic!
