Part number / wrong part

My '57 has the 223. The oil breather cap is twist on, but all of the replacement parts I find are push on. I stumped my local NAPA guys.

Am I looking for an odd part or was my valve cover changed out at one point?

Any Ideas? Numbers Dummy, help a guy out?

Yeah, that looks close to the original except the top has rounded off corners instead of square. The slot with the fiber looks great though.

I think the picture may be wrong, because they sent the square style cap that looks like the one listed under V8

Boy, that wrong picture trick happens way too often. Has almost gotten me a few times. Glad you got the square one.

EAA-6766-B .. Oil Cap - round - dome shaped with shield - twist on (see parts catalog pic) / Replaced

As original: 1952/53 215 I-6 / 1954/59 223 I-6.

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 1 = 800-476-9653.

ANTIQUE AUTO SUPPLY in Arlington TX has 3 = 817-275-2381.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1960: Ford replaced EAA-6766-B with C0AE-6766-D which was later replaced by C0AZ-6766-A

In order to use a push-on cap with a twist on cap type valve cover, an adapter (C5AZ-6A868-A) is required.

The adapter twists into the valve cover, has a neck on it that the cap pushes onto.
