I beleive that these lights can be converted from halogen to HID successfully.

So Simon can you explain the difference between the lights you listed and the US HID projector headlights are they some how different?
I see the lights you listed are made in Taiwan will this be a problem ? what's the fitment like ?

Hi, the low beam cutoff are different, being mirror images, RHD being \__ in shape, LHD being __/ in shape.

The gauge set I'm using is out of Taiwan - 270 increment stepper motor. I have no hesitation getting the lights from Taiwan - however, from experience I have found most aftermarket lights, including the 2005 HD units that I'm currently running, have been disappointing. I'm hoping the projector units will be good. What I like about the projector units:
1) effective aiming system - wind out bolts at the top allow tilting of the entire unit;
2) seperate low and high beam bulbs and reflector units - this will allow me to fiddle with the individual lights if necessary;
3) if the projector unit is crap, I should have the option of replacing the projector unit with another one;
4) I can fit, perfect, then mod the low beam with HID + diodes later - to hopefully get lights as good as my wife's Subaru XV with HIDs.

It's one of the purchases for which there is no real solid proof of the quality - it's suck it and see. Once I've found out the hard way I'll let you know.

In the meantime, if anyone else goes down this path, please post your findings.

I'll have to see how I go from there, and will post some pics once my buckzooka has been loaded and fired.

No, no order placed or purchased made.

First I have to load all the $ that I currently don't have into the money spending machine, called the Buckzooka.

Then you aim the buckzooka at the thing you want to buy and 'pull the trigger'.

Finally, the thing you buckzooka'd arrives in the post and you get to play.

Did our US bro Tugsly start this Buckzooka thing, or is this just general US slang?

I've got two light plugs on the truck the blue one has been taped up and tucked away the one with the globe is the HID but has to go as the light pattern is crap , my question is what is that blue light plug ? what is it supposed to fit?

This is the blue plug does anyone know what it fits , or have you see this type of connection.

This is the Hi /Lo Hid globe

This is the back of the headlight housing , takes a 9007 globe

The back of the Hid globe , i modified it to fit the new type of light housing .<br/>

I'm not sure if Halogen lights will work okay or they will have a crap pattern on them same as the Hid's.

Simon what the hell is thisid our US bro Tugsly start this Buckzooka thing, or is this just general US slang? Ha Ha

The blue plug looks to be the one set up for the halogen 9007 (H13) bulb.

The 9007 has an 'implied' LHD low beam cutoff which is achieved by the orientation of the bulb - low beam fillament shield - in the housing.

You could modify the tabs so that, facing forward, the bulb is oriented 60 degrees clockwise - this will adjust the cutoff from _/ to something like \_

When I said I didn't have any cash to load my Buckzooka - that means I haven't got any funds to progress my light upgrade.

That blue plug doesn't look like it will fit that housing in the pic, to use these light housings i will have to change the connector , correct?

The blue plug goes straight onto the back of the 9007/H13 halogen bulb.
The bulb then goes into the light housing, with the bulb oriented so it engages correctly with the 3 tabs. Then a collar, like what is on the back of your HID bulb, holds the bulb in place. This was probably the set up before the PO converted the 9007/H13 halogen bulbs to HID, leaving the old blue plug tapped up.

Notice how the little shield over the low beam fillament is positioned when the bulb is in the housing. The shield provides to low beam cutoff. The housing tabs engage with the bulb slots to ensure that the filament shield is correctly oriented to provide the LHD cutoff.

If you are able to file new slots in the bulb so that the bulb can be rotated 60 degrees clockwise in the housing (from the viewpoint of standing behind the light) you will be able to convert it from LHD cutoff to RHD cutoff.

LED reversing lights - these are bolted up using stock bolts on the bumper, the lights came with a bracket - I was able to drill out the braket and grind off a bit of the light housing to get these lights to mount without protruding below the towbar - so they can't be scraped off!

I've mounted my trailer plugs in the same way - so nothing is underslung on the towbar.
