Issue with truck when accelerating and loosing boost
I have an issue when I accelerate my truck 2000 F250 PDS4x4. The truck seems to accelerate just fine till I hit about 23PSI of Boost, and then all of the sudden my truck lags, and hesitates for a few seconds and the Boost gauge drops to Zero, then it will catch up and start to accelerate again. I thought it was hitting 25 PSI and defueling so I bought a Boost Reliever and I still have the issue. If I keep the boost under 21 PSI, I do not have any issues. This sucks when I try to Pass people on the freeway!
Here is what I have
Truck is lifted with 35 inch tires
Hypertech Max Energy Programmer, programmed to Stage 3
Everything else is stock
Thanks
Chris

Your boost reliever is something mounted on the MAP vacuum line or is it electrical?

No I have been traveling. I will pull the red line and plug it tomorrow and see if that helps. Can you tell me what EBPV stands for. I changed the programmer today to stage 2 instead of Stage 3 and it does go a bit longer at full throttle only to 20 PSI but then I loose boost after a bit and I have to let off the Gas and then I get my boost back. Also the Boost reliever is inline with the Map sensor and My Gauge is on the Turbo side not the Map side.

I've seen something similar to this. In my case... the intake plenum would hold pressure to a certain point, then "fart" and drop the pressure. I could rebuild pressure, but my leak was relatively small. Another member had a more serious leak on both his intake plenums and couldn't keep pressure. This is a serious job when repairing, so the billet plenum is the recommended permanent fix on high-boost engines.
Let's hope you're not to this level, but I recommend a boost leak test with concentration on the intake plenums. Remember - the tiniest leak during a leak test is far more serious at big boost.
