dana 44 gears

I have a 93 f150 4x4 with 3.55 gears. I would like to go to 4.10s but I heard the ifs dana 44 case would have to change if I went over 3.73s. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, how do I find parts to do that. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Yes that's true, you'd need a new carrier. You can get any kind you want, open, limited slip, locker, selectable locker....or a spool if 4wd will only be used off road.

3.92 is the cutoff. Below that, your carrier will work, above that and you need a new one.

i thought 4.10 was the cut off.... or is that just with the dana 60?
