So earlier this week I got my X4 tuner unpackaged the device and updated it. Hooked the tuner up to my truck and it gave a General Error Code #11020. The next day I was on the phone with SCT Tech support for over an hour then finally they deemed that it was an hardware issue. Called Gearhead and they sent me a new one. Got the new one updated it. Went back to the truck and got the same error code. Has anybody ever experienced this before. I had a bully dog and it worked no problems, but after doing some reading I wanted to try out some custom tunes. Can anyone help me with this issue?
Remove the tune from the truck before
you update the device. I read that somewhere.
That was one of the fixes for a past problem
and makes good sense to do that when doing
any changes to the device.
This is the initial setup I can't even get it to program the truck nor read vehicle info. It's a new tuner to my truck and it's the second one the first one did the exact same thing
So I called SCT again today and apparently they're have some problems with 2003-2004 6.0L and the X4 and are working to fix the problem. So in other words I have a tuner that I can't use until they resolve the issue.
The Vin for the 2003 trucks will report as ????????????????? Occasionally and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason behind it.

Is that just with the tuners or diagnostic tools also?
If it also shows up with tools that might be a way to know
that your going to have a problem spending the money.
