Unilug wheels?

I found these on CL. Curious if there is anyone here that has ever used Unilug wheels before? How well do they work?

Aluminum fin style American racing rims. NICE! Cash or possible trade.

I have never used unilugs b4 but if they use the lug nuts with the shoulder that goes into the slots I know they must be retorqued frequently or they WILL loosen up and cause heartache.

I had a set of wire spoke ones on a street rod for a few years , hard to keep tight. The ones i had used a shoulder lug nut with a crush washer between it and the adjustable insert. The more you had to retorqued them the more the washers will distort until you have to replace them . I kept extra washers on hand all the time .If you don't use the washer then you ruin the adjustable insert plate. I had them on a street rod not my truck.

In the picture you can see the three parts , insert ,washer and lug nut, it takes on each lug to secure the wheel.

Sounds like a nightmare. Can you have them filled and redrilled?

That i can't answer i never did think about it. I really liked my spoke wheels on my classic car first and then the street rod , just a lot of worry sometimes driving the cars.
