I'm starting to get into building my 7.3 for a little more power im just not sure which route I wanna take I don't wanna make where I cant pull anything but I want that happy medium where when I hit the pedal itll get down and get gone. Im thinking the meth injection would be easier to deal with after reading some threads, like you said the propane getting filled would kinda be a pain after a while.
Bully dog was a good supplier for propane injection. That was there coming at one time. Water meth works good to, but not the same power. Propane can be dangerous for motors if not just right.
Back when the 7.3L was the current hot engine at International, I had a chance to speak with the engineer who reviewed the warranty claims at Navistar. Propane windows blocks. This was well established by 2001.
If choosing between propane versus water/meth, I'd go water/meth.
Why are you looking at drugs to add power? Propane belongs on your BBQ, not in your motor. Water injection is great for cooling EGT's, but it should not be used as a power adder.
Here's my current set up since I can't do a signature. 2002 f250 7.3. Pro comp 4 " suspension lift,20x12 fuel off road krank wheels, 35-12.5 wild peak a/the tires, Bully dog tuner, banks turbo back 4" monster exhaust, garrett ball bearing turbo, Jasper stage 2 tranny, air raid cold intake. Currently it's in the shop getting a air dog df165, driven diesel fuel bowl delete, beans sump, wicked wheel 2 put on. I would really rather stay away from me th and propane but I'm not sure what all else I can do to get what I want. Eventually the injectors will be changed in maybe another month or so. I don't wanna make it where I can't tow but I want it where I can get it up from a red light and roast everybody.

With that statement right there, you need to forget about propane and water/meth.
Never ever ever ever ever ever use either one for power gains. Period.
The problem with both of them is you are introducing a fuel into the intake, and it enters the combustion chamber long before the diesel sprays out of the injectors. There is nothing in the tuning to control when the propane or water/meth ignites. Pre-detonation is common, and if you happen to have too much of the stuff in the combustion chamber when it goes boom at the wrong time, you now will see the engine guts spilling out the side of the block.
This is precisely why propane and water/meth was popular for a very short time, and then quickly died off. People realized these don't work well for adding power, and it gets expensive to replace a motor.
Do your power mods the right way. Yes injectors, turbo, whatever is more expensive, but you end up with a truck that runs right and gives you the power you want consistently day in and day out.
I'd call your mechanic and tell him not to install the airdog... 100% waste of money. Take that money and buy a TS or Hydra chip with custom tuning on it (and injectors at the same time) and go from there.
BTW, pick a HP goal before you start building... From the sounds of it you want to be able to work the truck still. With that in mind I would say a set of 160/100's would be perfect. A 400hp capable injector, yet can tow anything you want without worry, or without worrying about someone else driving it.
Like I said earlier, if your set on propane, go to bully dog. They were the first I know of on here to use it. They made tunes for it. That said, it is hard to control the combustion of propane un like diesel. It works great, but for how long, your guess is as good as mine. There was a guy on here in the early days that used it and kicked a--. He finely blow up his motor years later. He had a great run of it. I almost went there myself, I was going to them for the install also. It can make your motor run cooler if not used for racing, but it can be deadly also to that same motor.
Thanks for the info on this. I think my best bet is to stay away from the injection stuff. I think I'll stay on the proven way and just have it built. I hate to take a chance on a miss fire or wrong detonation and blow it all up in a matter of seconds.
