help IDing Torque converters
Hi, I have a 2000 F150 SC 4x4 7700lb XLT with the 5.4l and 4R100 transmission.
Does the transmission tag on the side of the 4r100 include the torque converter info? or will I have to pull the converter to see if it is a high or low stall speed unit?
I am getting a high pitched whine from the bell housing area that makes a spooling down noise after the engine drops below 1000 RPM. From what I have read , it sounds like ether the torque converter or the front pump in the 4r100.
I want to swap another 4r100 and torque converter from a 2000 Expedition that has a 4r100 but came with a 4.6l engine, I am not sure if it has the same torque converter.
The expedition is a oddball fleet truck that doesn't seem to match up with the parts lookups online.
