Ford vs Dodge
Ford vs Dodge
Hi all,
I am very interested in the collective brain of the forum on Dodge Ram Vs Ford F series. The Ram is quite prevalent in Europe, especially the UK where the F-series is practically non existent.
I had a Ram 2500 (5.7l Hemi) at my disposal for a few months and I absolutely hated it. Horrible truck. The dashboard, driving position, the front end (radiator grill).... yuk. I currently have two F350s, a V10 gasser and a 6.0. They are both very different animals but I love them both and in my opinion, compared to the Ram there is no contest, it's not even the same game!
Although there are far more Rams here, they are still few and far between and people that own them claim to love them but that's probably because they have never had an F -series. I am aware of the 6.0 problems... I own a 2005 F350 dually - Lariat shortbed, but what a truck! I love the V10 Triton F350 for different reasons. The engine is one, bloody lovely and one of the sweetest sounds on the planet. Having said that, I also love the sound of the 6.0.
The Ram did nothing at all for me. Being that there aren't many here and they are not well known about, how does the Dodge Ram fare compared to the F-series. I need to convert the masses lol.
Thanks
Andy

the same person that swore for 18 years that dodge was the best thing that was ever made, and would not even ride in anything that was not made by chrysler crop, now drives a 2004 Ford F-350 6.0 diesel, and junked his 2005 dodge 2500 because dodge could not fix it.
he also told me last week now he knows what i have been trying to tell him all these years about fords.
he fell in love with the truck after having to ride back home in it, and offered to buy it when he was picked up to get the dodge after the dodge mechanic let him drive it after he said he was buying a new F-350 .
you know something is seriously wrong when even dodge dealership mechanics drive fords.

I love dodge trucks. I make a ton of money fixing them.........
I drive Fords though. Granted, one is undergoing a transplant, using an engine and trans that were originally found in a dodge (cummins and NV4500). Both the engine and trans came from 2 different dodge trucks, that ended up going to the junkyard with less miles on them than the truck they are going into........
I honestly believe that dodge trucks would have disappeared completely, if the Cummins had not been used in them. Prior to offering the Cummins diesel, Dodge had less than 15% of the market share in the "light truck" field.
