Just got done visiting the dodge forum, They had a thread about comparing the powerstroke with the dodge cummins. Boy talking about inflated egos over there. The way they talk over there you would think Dodge was king kong and ford was going to be smashed. Well its a dodge forum what would you expect. I guess I shouldn;t be surprised. Were probably as bad over here.Oh well with the 6.0 problems more fuel for the fire.
If it makes you feel any better I ordered a new dodge cummins on March 1, 325/600 and told them never mind. Went and bought my 3rd F250 PSD 4X4. I am very happy with my new 6.0, so far great engine.
Just look at the roads. You cannot drive anywhere here without seeing Super Duties. You don't see nearly as many Dodges, and Chevy HD's are almost rare by comparison. Popularity isn't always the best judge of merit, but I feel I spent my money well. I'll let the Dodge fans feel the same way about their trucks - it's their money.
I have a 2001 with the 7.3 liter Powerstroke and I wonder why Ford didn't "tune-up" the HP and torque settings on that engine. If it's really as easy and beneficial as all the tuner and chip manufacturer's advertise, why doesn't Ford just sell it that way??? I'm considering the "Superchip" tuner so I'm also asking this in a round about way.

Supposedly, the old 7.3L PSD couldn't meet the new (more strict) emissions requirements coming into effect for diesels. Thus, International developed the 6.0L.
I guess I don't understand the controversy over Chevy or Dodge having more HP and Torque. If my Ford has enough HP and torque for my uses and purposes I could give a flying fart about Dodge or Chevy. Beside, it my be a Cummins, but it is still wrapped in a Dodge, Yuck....When Ford was leading the HP and Torque things were peachy, and in my opinion they still are.
