Just replaced the entire AC system on a 92 Explorer. Anyone know if the new R134 comps make any noise after they are installed. Added 9oz of ester oil to the system but the Comp. souds a little loud in comparison to the one on my Windstar. Thanks..
Please tell me that your not serious. The guy at Bennett Parts sold me the Ester oil when I bought the rest of the parts. I just replaced the complete AC system. I guess if this is the cause I'll have to disassemble the whole thing and start over huh. You know you would thing they would know...
Yes, I poured about 3oz in and l turned it about 20 rotations over about an hours time. I let the oil sit in the comp. for about 2 hours while I completed the rest of the system. Thanks for the reply
The box said PAG but, the guys at Garage here at the sheriff's office said they always use Ester in all the Ford A/C's. I really confused now. I called the parts house and they are more then willing to replace the dryer & compresser for me if I want. I think thats what I'm going to do and blow as much of the ester as I can and use PAG on the next one. Also the parts house said it should take about 7-9oz but the mech's here said it should only take about 5oz to do the whole system. I really don't who is blowing smake at me now! @#$%^%$$
you should always use the compresser manufactures recomed oil and all systems use different amounts of oil the ac tag under your hood should should give this info our maintance hand book under ac specs or capacities
