I looked but didn't see this topic....being new its possible I didn't look in the right place.
Ok, here it is: F-150 XLT SCREW 4.6L V-8 4X4
I bought the truck used from a dealer (not Ford), it came with "Carfax" and that says the tranny was replaced before I bought it by the original owner at a Ford dealer, I don't recall if it says why it was replaced.
Bought it in April 2014, with 36,000 miles on it, now has 39,700 miles. No long trips and I haven't towed anything with it but a log splitter.
What happens:
Driving normal, 45-50 mph. Then as I roll up to a stop light to stop, just letting it power down by itself, letting off the gas, when it gets down to 25mph, its like it comes out of gear, then jerks back in with a clunk. It’s very noticeable and irritating.
Definitely not something I am willing to live with mostly because its not normal and feels like it could be tearing something up.
Anyone have a similar experience, how did you fix the problem?
Any useful "key words" to tell the dealer when I take it in that will save them and me time and money?
I promise to post updates and what happens along the way until its fixed.
Thank you in advance!

Reason: a bunch of extra stuff showed up that I didn't type.
I don't know if this is the same issue but my 2012 with the 5.0 tends to have a rough 2-1 downshift around the same speeds. It doesn't happen all the time and has done it since new so I figured it was normal, or at the very least the truck is under warranty. It hasn't seemed to cause any problems though. This is the 1st vehicle I have owned with a 6 speed auto and there were a lot of quirks native to the 6 speed I had to get used to and probably I filed that as one of them. Good luck getting your issue worked out though. Your truck is under power train warranty for 5 years, 60,000 miles though so you may want to start persuing this with your dealer if it will cause problems later.
there were some complaints about the shift patterns in the 6 speeds that were put into the 2009-10's. ford did two things to address these concerns.
1. redesigned the transmission for 2011
2. offered a revised shifting strategy for 09-10.
i'm not sure that there are any key words to ask your dealer, but i would stop in and tell them what it is doing. from there you could ask them to verify that it has the most current shifting strategy program available for your model year.
my guess is that the program was never updated, and there is a good chance that the update would aleviate your symptoms.
they may tell you that it is because of the vehicle's adaptive shift strategy, and that may be true. they will usually start by clearing out all of the learned behavior and let the truck relearn how to shift. this is common practice and sometimes does the trick. the learning procedure is kind of slow, so it does take a while for it to relearn.
