Well two weeks after my belt tensioner and belt, and my front left hub bearings go out, today on the way to the hunt club my engine cuts off and I can see a mist of oil in the air behind me. So I pull over in the median and there is oil all over the tailgate, rear bumper, trailer, rear axle, and whole under carriage. Hmmm, this sounds familiar. Pop the hood and shazam! The valley is also full of oil that used to be so neatly contained in my crankcase. Looks like I finally popped a HPOP hose forcing me to do something I should have already done.
Soooo, I am ordering the lines and a reservoir gasket from Clay, I already have an HPOP plug kit. I was going to replace the res. gasket just because I haven't ever pulled the lid to see how much gunk is built up in the screen.
I was contemplating doing the 50 cent mod at the same time and cleaning the back pressure tube at the same time. Are these any easier whil I'm in it anyways and is there anything else I should think about?
Nothing on your list is any easier due to anything you will be doing to change the HPOP lines. Hopefully you ordered the disconnect tool too, or already have one.
Obviously you should address the lines first, but all the other stuff can be done at a later time since you won't be needing to remove anything to change the HPOP lines other than the appearance cover.
