Reverse sensor question

Reverse sensor question
I recently bought a new to me x and it came witha rear tire carrier that covers the two center rear sensors. When i put x in reverse i have to turn off the sensors or i get the anoying beep. My question is there a way to unplug the center sensors and leave the two outside sensors working or will none of them work? By tye way the ex i bought is a 2002 solid black, 6 in lift, 7.3 with 74k miles. Imaculate interior, etc..
