Mercon V Additive?

Mercon V Additive?
Talking with a trusted shop about full trans flush for my 4R70W, 192K miles, first time ever for this I'm sure. PO had records but no flush, just filter and 5-6 quart refill.
Shop told me they use a Kendall ATF but it needs an additive to give it Mercon V qualities. Never heard of this, thought ATF needed to be blended to a standard in order to work as designed.
Anyone else know of this or use it regularly?

Thanks Mark---didn't seem like something I'd want myself either----will back up and punt to original plan of DIY fluid flush with a Valvoline MercV Max Life instead.
