I was changing my fuel filter when I thought I would blow the trash out of it . it was full of rust dirt and all you can imagine. But I failed to cover the filter stem. The plunger was up but Im concerned wth smaller particle that might have gotten past and are waiting to continue on to the injectors. My question is are there any more fail safes past the exit on the filter bowl ? screen in the injector maybe? I havnt started it yet . thanks Tim matthews
I am refering to cleaning the filter housing. with the filter removed. I had a rag over and blew it out with air . did not expect so much rust and dirt but here I am.
Thanks for the advise. the hoses have surface cracking and I dont know how old they are so I am going to pull the bowl clean and change them.
Its 97 and I have had it a year now and some of the issues I had with my other 97 are popping up. I can imagine whats in the tanks . I bought it for too much money cause I thought a one owner took care of it.
My other 97 rolled down the free-way 3 times . the body did not survive but my better half did so I bought the exact same truck again well almost ,
Thanks again Tim
glad I took it off. lots of particles made it down the stand pipe. after inspecting, the housing was about to corode through, so I pulled the one off my wrecked truck which was in like new shape and installed with new hoses. Tim
