I set the truck to stock program and towed our ~6000 lb trailer 274 miles home from camp.
Up and down nice grades, a little brake mashing here and there, used cruise, M and D.
I ran it really hard quite a few times.
I burned A LOT of gas on the trip. I need to find out if this can really be the truck we need for the future.
There is almost 2800 miles on the odo now.
So, went out to run errands this morning and...
we have a 6.2 that snaps that we didn't have before! Now the tires bark all the time in intersections. Shift pattern is different too.
Laurel used to get "upset" when I jumped on the gas and then she might make some snide comment.
Now - She goes, "Weeeeeee!".
She likes the truck more than me
It's a strange way they have it setup, if you drive it hard it adjust to it but if you drive it around will a egg under your foot it turns into a dog. I started running mine hard most of the time to keep it adapted to the fun side.
so should I disconnect the battery and let it work when I reconnect it - because quite frankly I think it has been babyed too much and is a dog. Maybe I need to work it a bit and kick it in the pedal ?
I don't know how to reset it or start over.
When you do - hammer it. Run it to redline every shift from the get go a few times. The truck will not let you hurt it. Run it in M, maybe 2nd gear, wrap it up and let off so you get really high pressures and forces. When it's rolling down, tap that minus button to 1. It will flash and not shift. Keep trying - make it shift down - it will. When it shifts it might spin up to 4 grand or more - it's OK. I've run downgrade towing 55 mph in 2nd. That's what the truck wanted to do.
You need to develop high RPM, high torque and high HP wear patterns on the engine parts.
Run a new engine as hard as you are ever going to run it. If it explodes, take it back.

You just have to start driving it in a little more aggressive manor and it will come around or hook on to the heaviest trailer you can find.
I noticed this with my 2015 as well.
After a running it full-bore through the gears in M mode a couple of time the throttle and tranny were much improved.
My truck still has less than 1k on it but it's been pulling a trailer since mile 150 and gets better every ride.
