Seat swap question
Hey guys, I have a 1999 XLT explorer that I was considering swapping leather seats into. It has gray interior so I have had trouble finding anything that matched. Today I came across a 2005 mountaineer with gray leather seat being parted out. Would these fit in my explorer with minimal mods or is this going to be a ton of work?

For starters, are the seats currently in your 1999 power seats? Chances are good most leather seats are going to be power, so if you don't have the wires there for power, that could be a pretty good amount of work.
I'm not sure if anything newer than 2001 would bolt in nicely to your 1999 version. Have you checked for aftermarket covers like Katskinz to see if they sell leather covers? Maybe you could get covers for about the same cost as the replacement seats.
