hi
have a 50 f1 and rt door is out of alignment..............sagging and not latching properly..................
.the ford shop manual calls for first attempting "to spread" the lower hinge by placing a fiber block between the leaves and closing the door..............
.....assuming what this does is "bend" the leaves on the hinge which in turn pushes the lower corner of the door out while raising the upper corner ??????????????????
Do yourself a favor and replace the worn hinge pins...bending the hinges only compensates for an underlying problem that can be remedied by doing the proper maintenance. I don't believe that the Ford manual was taking into consideration that your truck would be still on the road some 65 years after that book was written.
