Thinking on a 76 Highboy

Well a couple of months ago I had found a good looking 76 f250 in my area. Sadly I had passed it up because I had assumed it would kill me at the pump. Being a 3/4 ton 4wd with supposedly a 390 (wouldn't doubt it could be a 360 but no matter), ABOUT what would the gas mileage be?

I know it depends on several different factors and yall are probably tired of hearing about gas mileage criers. Anyone else drive one? Thanks in advance!
Just really trying to talk myself into buying the next one I come across. P.s. The price was $2000.

Nathan welcome to FTE. To answer you question on the fuel mileage, you were looking at about 8-10 mpg around town. Also no 4x4 trucks were offered from the factory with the 390. They were all 360 until 1977. Then 351m/400's. No 4x4's were offered with the 460 either from the factory until 83. And the 2wd's with the 460's were all automatics. No manuals for the 460. Again till 83 I think. If I'm wrong some one will be by to politely correct me Depending on the condition 2 grand could've been a steal for that truck.

Thank you for responding. That's about what I was estimating on the gas mileage. And thanks for clearing up the 390, I wasn't very sure on that one. I will continue kicking myself for not buying it at the time
One more question, not related to this one. Do you know where I could find a bed panel for a 63 F100? The previous owner alowed leaves and trash to accumulate and we are having a hard time finding a replacement. Or at least a patch?

I would try either National Parts Depot, or Dennis Carpenter. That is if you want a new replacement. These will most likely be new repops though. Also try Blue Oval Truck Parts. For used I'd say good luck at either a bone yard or swap meet parts a rama.
